WHITSBURY MANOR STUD'S roster will feature a new name during next year's breeding season, as the operation has partnered with Shadwell to stand Adaay in 2017.

A dual Group 2-winning son of sire sensation Kodiac, Adaay was bought by Shadwell for 240,000gns at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale in 2014.

Having displayed his precocity before his purchase it wasn't long before his new owners were rewarded, as Adaay went on to win his first two starts, defeating Kodi Bear in a Newbury maiden before seeing off subsequent Norfolk Stakes runner-up Mind Of Madness in a Yarmouth novice stakes.

The William Haggas-trained Adaay got off the mark during his three-year-old campaign when winning the 6f Listed Carnarvon Stakes, a success which was followed by victory in the 6f Group 2 Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock, where he gained a comfortable length defeat of subsequent July Cup winner Limato.

He then went on to highlight his versatility by landing the 7f Group 2 Hungerford Stakes, where he beat Coulsty by half a length, with Saturday's Group 2 Park Stakes winner Breton Rock a further head back in third.

Adaay was bred in Ireland out of the Royal Applause mare Lady Lucia, who has produced six winners from six runners, including the Listed-placed Mullionmileanhour.

Whitsbury Manor's director Ed Harper commented: "We are very grateful to be given the opportunity to stand Adaay in partnership with Shadwell Stud.

"His two Group 2 wins in the Sandy Lane and Hungerford Stakes single him out as a horse of the highest calibre and he remains one of only three horses to have defeated Limato over a sprint distance, alongside Mecca's Angel and Muhaarar.

"He is a gorgeous dark bay individual typical of his sire Kodiac and will offer our clients an extremely commercial option for next season."

A fee for Adaay will be announced at a later date.
