Adonis aim for Charli Parcs
Leading juvenile Charli Parcs is set to make his next appearance in the Adonis Hurdle at Kempton on February 25.
Charli Parcs: Runs in the Adonis
The French import made a hugely impressive start to his career in Britain at the Sunbury circuit over the festive period and was set to lock horns with fellow JP McManus-owned youngster Defi Du Seuil in a Triumph Hurdle trial at Cheltenham last weekend.
However, Nicky Henderson's charge was a late withdrawal on account of the testing conditions and with stable companion Solider In Action lining up in the this weekend's Triumph Trial at Musselburgh, the master of Seven Barrows is eyeing a return to Kempton with Charli Parcs.
"I really wanted to run him at Cheltenham last week as that had been the objective for quite some time," Henderson said in his Stan James blog.
"Soldier In Action was always going to be going to Musselburgh and when you change a plan for one horse, what do you do with the others?
"Charli (Parcs) will now go to Kempton for the Adonis Hurdle in two weeks' time."
Charli Parcs is a best priced 8-1 for the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, with the Philip Hobbs-trained Defi Du Seuil the 4-1 favourite
Many are expecting McManus to split his aces by running Charli Parcs against his elders in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle, for which he can be backed at 7-1.
