Alexander injured in Ayr fall

Lucy Alexander was taken to hospital for precautionary checks following a fall in the opening race at Ayr.

The jump jockey took a tumble from Craiganboy, trained by her father Nick, at the third-last flight in the racinguk.com/freetrial Maiden Hurdle.

Racing was delayed for 25 minutes while she was taken by ambulance to Ayr's University Hospital.

"She's gone to our local hospital for checks," said clerk of the course Emma Marley.
