Almanzor out of Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe
IIrish Champion Stakes winner Almanzor has been taken out of Sunday's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Chantilly.
Trainer Jean-Claude Rouget had stated since his victory at Leopardstown that he favoured a crack at Ascot's Qipco Champion Stakes, but he left the star colt in the Arc at Tuesday's first forfeit stage.
However, he has been taken out at the second stage, along with The Juliet Rose, leaving a total of 17 contenders ahead of Thursday's declarations, when supplementary entries can be made at a cost of €120,000.
