Aloomomo fractures shoulder
Aloomomo looks like being sidelined for a year after fracturing a shoulder in a fall at Cheltenham on Saturday.
Aloomomo could be sidelined for up to a year
The six-year-old, trained by Warren Greatrex, sustained the injury when coming down at the third-last fence in the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup.
The damage is not believed to be career-threatening but it is a blow to the Upper Lambourn stable, who had high hopes for Aloomomo this season.
Greatrex said: "It's not great news. He has fractured his shoulder. He's in Donnington vets at the moment.
"He has a bit of swelling in the area. They are going to operate and decide when they see what exactly the damage is.
"It will definitely mean a year off. It's not career-threatening. We'll just have to take everything as it comes.
"I'm gutted for the owners and everyone in the yard. We thought this horse was going to have a huge season.
"Fingers crossed we can get him back in top condition.
"He's still a young horse so has time on his side."
