Ambassadorial claims Dundalk win

Ambassadorial confirmed the promise of his debut success by landing the Listed Irish Stallion Farms EBF Star Appeal Stakes on his return to Dundalk, and was the highlight of a treble for Michael Halford.

Leo Minor took up the running early in the straight but only served as a target for British raider Executive Force, who had Ambassadorial for company on his outside.Shane Foley didn't have to get too serious on the 4-1 chance, who displayed a taking change of gear to triumph by a length and a half.

Halford doubled up when Kadra led home a one-two-three for the trainer in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap.

Having tracked the leaders, Pat Smullen brought the 5-1 shot with her challenge down the centre of the track and she proved a willing partner, staying on well to see off Indrahar by a length and three-quarters, with the front-running Suvenna hanging on for third.

The three-timer was completed courtesy of 2-1 favourite Reddot Express in division two of the Dundalk Stadium – Light Up Your Night Apprentice Handicap.

Tilly Trotter was Dermot Weld's only runner on the card and she got the job done in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race.

Settled towards the rear early on, the 5-1 shot was produced inside the final furlong by Smullen and she accounted for Miss Cogent by three-quarters of a length.

Smullen looked like going in again when Windsorlot hit the front in the Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Claiming Maiden, but he was collared by Veil Of Stars (11-2), who went on to score by a length.

Taj Mahal is hardly a punters' pal but finally got off the mark in the Nursery Handicap.

Sent off 9-4 favourite, the sixth time in as many starts he has headed the market, the Aidan O'Brien-trained colt made hard work of landing the spoils but ultimately beat Twist Of Magic by a length.

The first division of the Dundalk Stadium – Light Up Your Night Apprentice Handicap went to Black Agnes (25-1), while Rahyah won the Christmas Party Nights At Dundalk Stadium Handica
