American has Festival options
Harry Fry will consider two races at the Cheltenham Festival for American following his convincing victory at Warwick on Saturday.
American: Has two options at Cheltenham
The seven-year-old, described by Fry as being "fragile", put in a superb round of jumping when making all the running in a three-mile novice chase on just his second start over fences and fifth in all under Rules.
Fry will put American in both the RSA and National Hunt Chase and as American needs plenty of time between starts, he may not be seen again until Cheltenham in March.
"For him, he's come out of the race not too bad," said the Seaborough handler.
"We won't see him again between now and Cheltenham, if that's going to be our plan.
"Nothing is set in stone, but he'll entered in the RSA Chase and be given an entry in the four-mile National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham.
"He needs time between his races and if we go that route, and if ground conditions suit and he's fit and well, then he'll go straight there."
