Saturday is one of the showpiece afternoons of the National Hunt season for the Berkshire track and is due to feature the Grade One Clarence House Chase, for which Irish raider Un De Sceaux is favourite.

While the forecast is mainly dry for the rest of the week, frost is expected on Wednesday morning, followed by lighter frosts before a potentially colder Saturday morning.

Ascot tweeted: "In anticipation of frost overnight and possible frosts to follow this week, frost covers have been deployed on vulnerable areas of the track."

The going is described as soft, heavy in places.
