Joseph O'Brien has confirmed he intends to remain a trainer or both flat and national hunt horses for the foreseeable future, ending speculation he might be preparing to specialise. The former Irish Champion Jockey finally got his trainers licence in the summer weeks after masterminding Ivanovich Gorbatov's victory in the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham and in September completed a notable double when saddling his first Group One winner on the flat The Curragh. O'Brien trains at the same County Kilkenny yard from where his father Aidan sent out his first winners- he's readying horses for upcoming meetings including the Leopardstown Christmas Festival and already has half an eye on a few possibles for the Cheltenham Festival next March. Mike Vince has been to Piltown to speak to him.
