Aurelia thrives in Ascot work
Star American filly Lady Aurelia was put through her paces at Ascot on Wednesday morning ahead of the King's Stand Stakes at the Royal meeting next Tuesday.
The Wesley Ward-trained three-year-old galloped alongside two of her stablemates in the hands of Ryan Moore and finished a long way clear of Bound For Nowhere, who has been earmarked for the Commonwealth Cup.
Con Te Partiro is set to line up in the Sandringham Handicap and was the other Ward horse to have worked with Lady Aurelia.
Moore was deputising for Frankie Dettori, who was unseated at Yarmouth on Tuesday, and said: "She was very relaxed and knows what she's doing round here."
The daughter of Scat Daddy was a jaw-dropping winning of the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot last year and is the ante-post favourite to win the King's Stand Stakes.
