Australia: The former Sir Michael Stoute-trained Exosphere has undergone a change in name to avoid confusion as the four-year-old is being prepared by new connections for the Emirates Melbourne Cup.
Fifth in the Juddmonte International when last seen, Exosphere has since been purchased by Australian owners and moved to the care of Lee and Anthony Freedman.
He also now races under the name Exospheric, as there is a Group 1-winning sprinter by the name of Exosphere already in Australia.
Exospheric was one of 52 horses left in the Melbourne Cup at Tuesday's latest confirmation stage, and Anthony Freedman said: "He travelled better than we thought he might because he's a little bit of an anxious horse but he didn't lose much weight and he's put that weight straight back on and seems to have settled in very well."
The Caulfield Cup on October 15 is Exospheric's first carnival target, and Freedman added: "Certainly the Caulfield Cup is the plan but like all these horses it'll depend on how they do here over the next ten or 12 days so we're heading in that direction with the proviso that we're happy and everything's good."
Aidan O'Brien is down to Bondi Beach for the Melbourne Cup, as Arc placegetters Highland Reel and Order Of St George were taken out.
Big Orange (Michael Bell) and Scottish (Charlie Appleby) also remain in contention along with Heartbreak City for Tony Martin, the Willie Mullins-trained Wicklow Brave and Saeed Bin Suroor's Beautiful Romance and Secret Number.
The weights are headed by last year's winner Prince Of Penzance and Preferment, who finished 20th of 24 in the race last year but has since won two Group 1s over 1m2f and 1m4f.
