Ayr forced to abandon card

Racing at Ayr on Monday has been abandoned due to waterlogging.

Action from Ayr

Heavy rain over the weekend has left the course with false patches of ground leaving officials with no option.

An inspection was called for 8am on Sunday but conditions had not improved enough to give the meeting a chance after two inches of rain in the past 10 days.

Clerk of the course Emma Marley posted on twitter: "MON 15TH AUG: ABANDONED @ayrracecourse after an inspection track is unfit for racing due to false areas of ground as a result of waterlogging."
