Battaash set for Coral Charge

Charlie Hills

Charlie Hills thinks the Coral Charge at Sandown is the logical next step for promising sprinter Battaash.

After overcoming a lengthy absence to lift a five-furlong Listed race at the Esher track last month, the Dark Angel colt will bid for another course-and-distance victory when switching to Group Three company on Saturday.

Hills said: "I was delighted with the way he won last time. The wide draw was a little bit of a concern, but he seemed to overcome that pretty well.

"I am really pleased with how he has come out of it. This seemed the obvious place to go as he is a course-and-distance winner. I am looking forward to running him again.

"His work had been fantastic before his last start. It was nice to see the form franked with the second (Koropick) winning a Group Three on Saturday. "

King's Stand Stakes fourth Muthmir, who is trained by William Haggas, and Paul Midgley's Line Of Reason also feature among the 22 entries at this stage.
