Bets Of The Day: Robin The Raven to score on hurdles debut
Taurian should go close in this handicap hurdle.
This mare put in a solid effort when finishing second to Frozen Over in a similar event last month. She kept on well in the closing stages, but could not get to grips with the game winner. She is relatively lightly-raced over hurdles and appears to be heading in the right direction. I think she may have more to offer, and is fairly priced at [3.75] on the exchange.
Too Many Diamonds is an interesting runner. This gelding makes his debut for trainer Dan Skelton but is winless in 41 starts. He has been well beaten at long odds in his past three attempts, but is trading at [2.84] on the exchange. His price is extremely thin, but there appears to be stable confidence behind him.
Robin The Raven is taken to win this interesting novices' hurdle.
This gelding finished down the field in the Champion Bumper at the Festival. He began to feel the strain half a mile from home, and quickly weakened out of contention. He had previously won a bumper in good style at Towcester. I think he has a future over hurdles and should make his presence felt. At present he is trading at [4.2] on the exchange which is just about right.
The current favourite is Monkey Puzzle who is trading at [3.05]. He finished second on his hurdles debut at Doncaster last December, and has every right to move forward. He rates as the main danger but his price is a little thin.
