Buick eyes transatlantic double

William Buick is to ride in both the Arlington Million in the USA and the Prix Jacques le Marois in France this weekend.

It could be a big international weekend for William Buick

The Godolphin jockey completed that rare double six years ago and will attempt to repeat the feat aboard Tryster and Ribchester.

The former has drawn gate 12 in a field of 13 in Chicago but trainer Charlie Appleby is happy with his five-year-old: "His breeze on Wednesday morning went very well," he said.

"He does have a wide draw but we won't change his running style, and he will come from off the pace.

"He will need some luck in running but I couldn't be happier with his preparation," he added on www.godolphin.com.

Sky Bet make Tryster their 4/1 joint-favourite alongside David O'Meara's Mondialiste, the winner of the Woodbine Mile in Canada last year, who is drawn in nine.

Roger Charlton's Decorated Knight is in eight while Aidan O'Brien's Deauville will break from 13 with Seamie Heffernan in the saddle.

Last year's winner, The Pizza Man, is boxed in five and is a 9/1 chance with Sky Bet.

Buick also has leading claims in France according to the online bookmaker who make Ribchester their 9/4 second favourite for the Deauville Group One behind 2/1 chance Galileo Gold.

Trainer Richard Fahey is hopeful of a big run from his three-year-old saying: ""I was very pleased with how Ribchester took his race at Goodwood.

"He is looking and feeling well, and his preparation for the race has gone to plan. He is a horse, who seems to go on any surface, and I am looking forward to Sunday."
