Bunyan targets Scurry Stakes
Curragh trainer Darren Bunyan will only run one of his two entries in the Randox Health Scurry Stakes at Sandown on Saturday.
Bunyan has entered Mister Trader, lightly-raced since finishing second to Caravaggio in the Marble Hill Stakes last season, and Hit The Bid, a 50-1 winner of a Group Three last year.
"There's a good chance I'll run one, but not two," said Bunyan.
"Whichever doesn't run will probably run in the Midsummer Stakes at Cork on Sunday.
"Hit The Bid boiled over before he ran in France the last day, he gave himself no chance.
"Mister Trader actually ran better than I thought he would in the Lacken Stakes, even though he was last of seven. He'd missed a bit of work, but he travelled well until a furlong out and Pat (Smullen) let him coast home when he felt him take a blow.
"Hit The Bid wants it good or quicker, while Mister Trader will go on anything but extremes.
"If Mister Trader returned to his Marble Hill form, he'd be a player and in his two runs since he's had genuine excuses. He hated the ground at Ascot and was short of work for his comeback."
Among the 19 entries are John Gosden's Flying Childers winner Ardad, Tim Easterby's Copper Knight, Robert Eddery's Equimou and David O'Meara's Fashion Queen.
