Burke on Haydock weather watch
Karl Burke fears the predicted heatwave may force Quiet Reflection out of Saturday's Armstrong Aggregates Temple Stakes at Haydock.
The dual Group One-winning filly is the highest-rated horse left in the Group Two with only 13 standing their ground at the five-day stage on Monday.
Quiet Relection would be reverting to five furlongs at Haydock having done all her racing at six last season, but it is the prospect of quick ground that has Burke looking for alternatives.
"Unfortunately there's such a dry forecast we'll have to keep an eye on the ground," he told At The Races.
"She won't go to Ireland (Greenlands Stakes). If she doesn't go to Haydock because the ground gets too quick, then we've got an option in France the following weekend.
"She's much better now, we've ironed out a few niggles and she's done nothing but bloom these last few weeks. I'm 98 per cent happy now and Martin (Harley) will ride her wherever she goes."
