Cambridgeshire field takes shape
Favourite Sacred Act is guaranteed a place in the final line-up for the Betfred Cambridgeshire after the five-day entry stage.
Gosden: Bidding to win the Cambridgeshire for the fourth time.
John Gosden's lightly-raced five-year-old moved up to number 34 on the list after a handful of horses above him were taken out of the contest, including the David O'Meara trained Firmament, one of his biggest market rivals in the ante-post lists.
A maximum field of 35 is permitted in the £160,000 race, and this year's could include the race's last three winners, with Third Time Lucky (2015), Educate (2013) and Bronze Angel (2014 and 2012) all among the intended starters.
Educate is set to carry joint top-weight with Gosden's talented but frustrating GM Hopkins, whose presence in the final field would leave his stablemate with an attractive burden as the 4lb penalty for his latest Sandown win moves up to just 8st 7lb – Gosden has won the Cambridgeshire three times before.
