Carlingford set for John Durkan
Dual Irish Gold Cup hero Carlingford Lough is likely to make his seasonal reappearance in the John Durkan Memorial Punchestown Chase on December 11.
Carlingford Lough returns in December
John Kiely's stable star successfully defended his Leopardstown crown in February and after finishing a creditable fourth in the Cheltenham Gold Cup on his next start, he rounded off his season by claiming the fifth Grade One success of his career in the Punchestown Gold Cup.
Kiely reports his charge in rude health after his summer break and is looking forward to another successful campaign.
"He's done very well, he's about half ready and he'll probably go to Punchestown for the Durkan. He's in good form," the trainer told At The Races.
"He's been a brilliant horse. I'm very lucky to have him. I hope we can get another like him some time."
