Cesarewitch aim for Endless
Endless Acres will be given a midsummer break before being readied for a shot at the Betfred Cesarewitch.
Trainer Charlie Fellowes has earmarked the prestigious two-and-a-quarter-mile contest at Newmarket on October 14 as the long-term target for the lightly-raced four-year-old.
The son of Champs Elysees took his form to new heights on his last outing, finishing second to the Willie Mullins-trained Thomas Hobson in the Ascot Stakes at the Royal meeting.
Fellowes said: "Endless Acres ran a blinder at Royal Ascot, but he had a very hard race. He came back and didn't look the same horse.
"He looked like he had a hard race and just a lost a bit of condition on his spine. We've turned him out and given him a break.
"We will get him back in after Goodwood and then go straight to the Cesarewitch. Whatever he achieves this year is a bonus and he will be so much better next year.
"We will train him like a good horse and we have just got to be patient with him. We will aim him at the Cesarewitch, then probably call it a day for the season.
"Hopefully next year he will be a stakes-class horse."
