THE Skeltons landed a valuable pot over hurdles last weekend and they landed another this weekend, with Ch'tibello coming out on top in a muddy Haydock sprint.

A handsome pot of £100,000 was on offer for the Betfair Price Rush Hurdle and the lion's share of it went to the Dan Skelton-trained Ch'tibello, a clear-cut winner from Melodic Rendezvous and disappointing 10-11 favourite My Tent Or Yours.

Six days after North Hill Harvey landed the Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham, Ch'tibello captured a similarly valuable prize with Harry Skelton once again doing the steering.

Having been sent past long-time leader Melodic Rendezvous on the run to the penultimate flight, last season's Scottish Champion Hurdle hero showed too much pace for his three rivals.

The 32Red Christmas Hurdle now beckons for Ch'tibello, who had finished fifth in handicap company on his seasonal return at Ascot.

Harry Skelton said: "We went slow and one thing this horse has got is a really good turn of foot. We were the underdogs and it's nice when this happens."
