DUAL Grade 1 winner Colonel John will continue his stud career in Jejudo, Korea, having been purchased by the Korea Thoroughbred Breeders Association (KTBA).

The former WinStar Farm resident will enter quarantine before shipping to South Korea at the end of October to take up residence at his new home of Jeju Stud Farm.

The deal was brokered by bloodstock agent Jun Park, an advisor to the KTBA.

Park said: "The KTBA is very excited to stand Colonel John. He will be a wonderful addition to their growing breeding programmes.

An 11-year-old son of Tiznow out of the Turkoman mare Sweet Damsel, the WinStar homebred was trained by Eoin Harty to win six races including the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby and the Grade 1 Travers Stakes.

Since retiring to stud he is the sire of Grade 2 winner Airofroce and the Grade 3 heroes Cocked And Loaded and Dalmore.
