Crimean Tatar confirmed himself a smart prospect with victory in the 32Red Wild Flower Stakes at Kempton.

Hugo Palmer: Won with Crimean Tatar at Kempton

The once-raced Hugo Palmer-trained colt raced with just one behind him for much of the mile-and-a-half journey and with a couple of furlongs to run he was last of all.

But after Jack Mitchell managed to manoeuvre the imposing winner to the outside and ask him for his effort, he fairly ate up the ground to mow down Chemical Charge and ultimately win going away for Listed honours.

The official winning margin was half a length for the 5-1 scorer, with another two and a quarter lengths back to Curbyourenthusiasm in third.
