Crowley back among the winners

Champion Flat jockey Jim Crowley secured a first victory since his return from injury when Mr Scaramanga struck at Lingfield.

Jim Crowley: Back with a winner

Crowley had been sidelined by injury since he was brought down from Electrify in the four-horse pile-up at Kempton in late October that led to Freddy Tylicki suffering paralysis from the waist down.

The rider made his comeback on Wednesday and was back in the winner's enclosure for the first time since then when the Simon Dow-trained Mr Scaramanga (30-100 favourite) held off Ocean Promise in the 32Red.com Novice Stakes.

Crowley told At The Races: "That was great, really good.

"Simon has always been a good supporter of mine, so it's nice to have a winner for him.

"He's a nice little horse, he'll be a good buy and hopefully will keep progressing."

Dow intimated that the former Richard Hannon-trained Mr Scaramanga could now head to Dubai.
