Dartmouth denied at Woodbine.
Erupt continued the European domination of the Pattison Canadian International in beating the Queen's runner Dartmouth at Woodbine.
Dartmouth: Finished second at Woodbine
The winner and runner-up both featured prominently from the off, as World Approval set just a steady gallop, and were perfectly positioned to strike off the turn, just after Ryan Moore had begun to niggle Aidan O'Brien's representative Idaho.
Dartmouth and William Buick got first run on the Stephane Pasquier-ridden Erupt and briefly led, before the Francis-Henri Graffard-trained four-year-old quickened smartly to take over for France.
To his credit Sir Michael Stoute's Dartmouth stuck to his guns to take second, but Idaho had to settle for fifth on his first run since unseating in the St Leger at Doncaster.
Earlier on the card, the E.P Taylor Stakes went the way of Al's Gal, who got the verdict over Suffused in a desperately tight finish.
John Gosden's Swiss Range fared best of the raiding party in sixth, just ahead of the Roger Varian-trained Nezwaah. O'Brien's Best In The World had every chance but faded at the business end.
