Different League set for Morny

Different League and Antoine Hamelin land the Albany Stakes

Royal Ascot heroine Different League will bid to maintain her unbeaten record in the Prix Morny at Deauville next month.

The two-year-old filly had won her first two starts in the French provinces but took her form to a whole new level in Berkshire.

Up against Jessica Harrington's giant Alpha Centauri, she looked diminutive but very speedy and held off the favourite to cause something of a shock in the Albany Stakes.

There has understandably been plenty of interest in Matthieu Palussiere's youngster since, but the trainer confirmed she will stay where she is and take on the boys in a Group One contest won by American filly Lady Aurelia last summer.

"There's been no change in her circumstances," said Palussiere.

"She's been very good since Ascot and now we are looking forwards to the Prix Morny with her.

"We were all excited at Ascot and she confirmed there what we have thought all along, she's very good.

"She looks very good, she's some filly all right."
