Spotlight: Capable on her day but very much has her own way of going about things and often needs plenty of driving along throughout a race especially in the early stages. Capable of winning a race such as this and her last Flat win came here (2m2f) but that was back in 2014. On balance one best left alone and treated with caution.
Spotlight: Unraced Beneficial gelding. Purchased for €40,000 at the sales in Ireland last year and a half-brother to Flat winner Ring Eye (also placed over hurdles). Dam won four times over hurdles and worth a check in the market here.
A ‘double’ and a ‘treble’ bet are two examples of ‘accumulator’ bets which are extremely popular with punters.
An ‘accumulator’ is a single bet that links together two or more individual wagers and is dependent on all of those wagers winning together.
The benefit of an ‘accumulator’ bet is that there are much higher payoffs than placing each individual bet separately because the likelihood of all the selections winning is much lower.
Two of the most popular accumulator bets are the ‘double’ and the ‘treble’.
• Double – A double is a single bet placed on 2 different selections. Both selections must be correct for the bet to be successful.
• Treble – A treble is a single bet placed on 3 different selections. All 3 selections must be correct for the bet to be successful. With either a ‘double’ or a ‘treble’ bet, if one of your selections is not correct, your payout will be zero.
You place £10 on Native River and Yanworth to win. This is a ‘double’. If both horses win, you receive a payout of £187.50 plus a return of your £10 stake. If one of these horses fails to win, your payout would be zero.
If you added Willoughby Court to your selections you would have a ‘treble’. If all three horses win, you receive a payout of £3,187.50 plus a return of your £10 stake. If one of the three horses fails to win, your payout would be zero.
It couldn’t be easier to place an accumulator bet. By going online and using an internet based bookmaker such as Paddy Power, Bet365 or Betfair you can make your selections and then choose ‘double’ or ‘treble’ on your betslip, depending on whether you have made two or three selections.
