Dunlop to delay Robin Leger call
Robin Of Navan has bounced out of his first run for three months in fine form – but a final decision on his Ladbrokes St Leger participation will not be made until Monday morning.
Harry Dunlop: Trains Robin Of Navan
Harry Dunlop's Group One winner ran a race full of promise when he chased home Arab Spring in the September Stakes at Kempton on Saturday.
"He's come out of it really well and trotted up sound," said Dunlop.
"We'll make a decision on Monday morning when I've had a good chat with his owners.
"It (St Leger) would be a very big ask, especially when he has some lovely options later in the season.
"There's a Group Two in France after Arc weekend and there's the Arc Trial at Newbury.
"We don't want to damage all the good work we've put into him.
"If it was in two weeks I'd say it would be nearly certain but it's not, it's on Saturday.
"If he runs, we'd consider Tony Piccone for the mount as he knows him so well."
