THE absence of Coneygree from next Monday's 32Red King George VI Chase has tempted connections of Outlander to consider Kempton's Grade 1 festive highlight.
Trainer Gordon Elliott was leaning towards the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown for the eight-year-old, but he could now head to Kempton instead.
"Gigginstown have got plenty for Leopardstown so we might split them up a bit. He came out of the John Durkan very well and I might run him, all being well."
Outlander has never run at Kempton before, and is as big as 20-1 for the King George, though he is half that price with other firms.
His previous experience of British tracks has come at the last two Cheltenham Festivals, finishing sixth in the Neptune last year, then falling when in contention for the JLT Novices' Chase in March.
Elliott also has Don Poli and Roi Des Francs to choose from for the King George, though the former is likely to run in the Lexus.
