Exciting Grace out of Cheltenham

Kayf Grace will miss an outing in next month's Trull House Stud Mares' Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival after meeting with a setback.

Kayf Grace: Not running at the Festival

Trainer Nicky Henderson has ruled the seven-year-old out of the Grade Two prize, for which she was as short as 10-1, having failed to recover from a leg injury sustained last month.

After claiming a Grade Two bumper at Aintree in April on her final outing last season she has been unbeaten over hurdles in three starts.

The Seven Barrows handler said: "She is wounded. She has got a bruised bone on her leg. She won't make Cheltenham which is a pity.

"She got the injury two days before the Tolworth.

"I'm trying to get her back for later in the season but she is still lame from it."
