Fahey and Hanagan in Ripon joy
News of the action from Ripon on Bank Holiday Monday where Richard Fahey and Paul Hanagan teamed up with a winner.
Paul Hanagan struck for his old boss Richard Fahey
The old firm teamed up for victory in the Andrew Caygill's 60th Birthday Selling Stakes as Paul Hanagan drove home Richard Fahey's Forster Square at Ripon.
Third in two sellers the last twice, the latter over seven furlongs, the son of Dandy Man appreciated the drop in trip.
Sent off at 6-1, Coco La Belle gave him something to aim at but Hanagan brought his mount with a challenge down the middle of the track and won going away by a length and a half.
"We went a nice gallop which helped him," said Hanagan.
"He didn't get home over seven as he was too keen, but the fast pace helped him drop his head today.
"The second made him tough it out, but that's his trip (six furlongs) if they go a good pace."
There was no bid for the winner.
