Kieren Fallon enjoyed his first winner since making a surprise return to his native Ireland when steering Oiche Mhaith Boy to victory at Limerick.

The six-times British champion jockey, who has signed up as stable jockey to Curragh handler Michael O’Callaghan, struck for Kilkenny trainer Kieran Purcell in the Download The App Handicap.

Fallon made all the running as he brought the 3-1 shot home by four and a quarter lengths from Pat Harkin.

“He was tough, likes the ground and had the form,” said Fallon.

“I asked him to quicken and he did and it surprised me as it’s very soft here.

“I’m from up the road in County Clare and this is a good track. It’s one of the best in the country and there’s good racing here.”
