Final Scottish Flat racing of 2016

The curtain for the 2016 Flat campaign in Scotland comes down at Musselburgh on Tuesday when the feature race is the £14,000 Breeders Backing Racing Flying Scotsman EBF Conditions Stakes.

Caspian Prince wins at Epsom on Derby Day.

Among the seven runners in the five-furlong dash is Glenrowan Rose who is on a belated hat-trick for the high-flying Keith Dalgleish stable.

Carrying the colours of Weldspec Glasgow Limited, the Lanarkshire raider has already won a conditions event at Hamilton Park plus a handicap at Ripon when last seen out in the spring.

Also in the line-up is Caspian Prince who is bidding to supply trainer Roger Fell with his first success since taking over the reins of the Nawton yard formerly occupied by David Loughnane.

Caspian Prince scored for Loughnane at Beverley late last month, while Joe Fanning gets the leg up on David Nicholls-trained Kimberella who is top-rated horse in the race on a BHA mark of 109.

The final race of the year on the level north of the border is division two of the Racing UK Profits Returned To Racing Handicap over seven furlongs. Course and distance winners Dark Crystal and Cara's Request feature among the 11-strong field.
