Chantilly: Qatar Prix du Cadran (Group 1), 2m4 1/2f, 4yo+

GEORGE BAKER impressed as the versatile Quest For More stormed from last to first to win the Prix du Cadran and secure a first Group 1 victory.

Baker had claimed the plaudits for an excellent front-running ride on Roger Charlton's stayer in the Lonsdale Cup at York but he employed completely different tactics here, settling his mount in last.

Favourite Vazirabad struck the front approaching the final furlong but Baker and Quest For More swooped down the outside to prevail.

Qatar Prix Dollar (Group 2), 1m2f, 3yo+

POTEMKIN landed a blow for Germany when winning the Prix Dollar under Eduardo Pedroza for trainer Andreas Wohler.

The five-year-old, who was successful at Group 3 level in his home country earlier in the season, came with a surging run down the centre to deny Heshem under Gregory Benoist and the fast-finishing favourite Zarak, whose challenge came all too late and never looked like landing a telling blow.

Of the British contingent, Yorker set a strong early pace for William Haggas, but could not sustain his effort in the closing stages, while the James Fanshawe-trained Arthenus was never involved.
