AIDAN O'BRIEN takes the wraps off two half-brothers to Classic winners in a competitive 7f maiden at the Curragh on Sunday (3.15) in which all the runners are newcomers.
The one who will likely have most eyes on him is San Remo, a Frankel half-brother to Poule d'Essai des Poulains and Prix de la Foret hero Make Believe.
Bred by Barronstown Stud out of the winning Suave Dancer mare Rosie's Posy, San Remo is also a half-brother to dual US Grade 1 winner Dubawi Heights.
O'Brien also unleashes Exemplar, a Galileo half-brother to 1,000 Guineas, Irish Oaks and Yorkshire Oaks winner Blue Bunting in the race.
The third runner from Ballydoyle in this race is Ensign, a son of Invincible Spirit out of Alta Moda, an unraced daughter of Sadler's Wells and dual Champion Stakes winner Alborada.
Coolmore paid 190,000gns to secure Ensign – a half-brother to valuable Tattersalls sales race winner Ghurair – as a yearling from breeder Kirsten Rausing.
Galileo colt a star attraction
O'Brien looks to have good chances with regally bred runners in the 1m2f maiden for three-year-olds and up later on the Curragh card (5.15).
Big Ben, a three-year-old Galileo half-brother to five-time Group 1 winner Attraction, finished third to the classy Stellar Mass on his sole start in June.
Tree Of Knowledge, who finished second on his debut at Leopardstown this month, is a three-year-old son of Oasis Dream and Oaks runner-up Wonder Of Wonders, a daughter of Kingmambo out of Urban Sea's daughter All Too Beautiful, also second in the Oaks.
Fabulous pedigree for Fastnet Rock gelding
Fastnet Monsoon is making a belated debut for Luca Cumani in the 1m2f maiden at Chelmsford (5.10) but the three-year-old gelding has a pedigree worth noting.
He is a son of Fastnet Rock out of the Giant's Causeway mare Mona Lisa, who finished second in the Prix de l'Opera and third in the Coronation Stakes and Irish Oaks.
Mona Lisa is a granddaughter of Meon Valley Stud foundation mare Reprocolor, ancestress of numerous top-class performers including Kayf Tara and Opera House.
