Goken retired to stand at Haras de la Huderie

GROUP 3 winner Goken has been retired to stand at Haras de la Huderie in France for the 2017 breeding season and in the process becomes the first son of Kendargent to stand at stud.

Owned and bred by Guy Pariente, the four-year-old is the first foal out of the winning Indian Rocket mare Gooseley Chope.

Under the care of Henri-Alex Pantall in France, Goken was trained to win four races including the Group 3 Prix du Bois as a two-year-old and the Group 3 Prix Texanita at three.

Kevin Ryan then trained him to win the Listed Rose Stakes at Lingfield on his final start at three and his best performance this year came when third behind Profitable in the Group 1 King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.

He is one of five Group winners for his sire Kendargent, who stands at Haras de Colleville.

Goken will stand at a fee of €5,000.
