Goodwood option for Filly
Hugo Palmer is tempted to try Unforgetable Filly back over a mile before taking aim at the L'Ormarins Queen's Plate at Goodwood.
After appearing to see out the trip in the 1000 Guineas, the daughter of Sepoy returned to winning ways in a seven-furlong Listed prize at Musselburgh on Saturday.
Although earmarking the Group Three at the Sussex track in August as a long-term target, the Newmarket handler may step her back up in trip at Royal Ascot later this month.
He said: "She ran well in both the Oh So Sharp last year and the Nell Gwyn on her return, it was nice to get another win into her. She is now a stakes winner, which is quite important.
"Quite where we go next, I don't know, but the obvious race is what was the Oak Tree at Goodwood, which is a Group Three over seven furlongs.
"She did run at Musselburgh like she would get a mile and we felt going into the 1000 Guineas she would get it, but she didn't appear to stay that day, although it is possible she might stay it and that she just didn't run well that day.
"We could try a mile again at Ascot if we go there in either the Sandringham or the Coronation, which if Winter turns up there would not be a very big field.
"She has already had three starts this year, though, and the race at Goodwood is worth a lot of money."
