Gosden sends Journey to Curragh

Journey bids for Pretty Polly success

Journey bids to give John Gosden a fourth win in the Pretty Polly Stakes when she lines up for the Group One contest at the Curragh on Sunday.

The Newmarket trainer has struck with Del Deya (1994), Dar Re Mi (2009) and Izzi Top (2012) in the mile-and-a-quarter feature.

Journey ended the last campaign with victory in the Qipco British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes at Ascot in October and made a promising return when fifth to Highland Reel in the Coronation Cup at Epsom a month ago.

Roger Varian's Nezwaah and Sir Michael Stoute's Smart Call make up the British challenge.

Aidan O'Brien, successful in the last two years with Minding and Diamondsandrubies, runs Rain Goddess and Pocketfullofdreams, while his son Joseph is represented by Irish 1,000 Guineas fourth Intricately,

Dermot Weld saddles a leading fancy in the hat-trick-seeking Zhukova, winner of the Grade One Man o'War Stakes at Belmont Park in May.

Completing the 11-strong field are Creggs Pipes, Laganore, Santa Monica and Turret Rocks.
