Green light for Sedgefield

Sedgefield's National Hunt meeting will go ahead as planned this afternoon.

Plenty of rain in the previous 48 hours prompted a first inspection at 12 noon on Saturday with officials then calling another check for 7.30am on raceday.

Thankfully, forecast rain overnight did not materialise and while conditions will be very testing, the course is raceable.

The course's official twiter account posted: "Today's Miles for Men Raceday will go ahead. Gates open at 12.40pm, see you all soon!"

Racing gets under way at 2.10 and the in-form Donald McCain appears to hold several good chances once more.
