Ground perfect for Leger Festival
Clerk of the course Roderick Duncan reports the Doncaster turf to be in "fantastic" condition ahead of next week's Ladbrokes St Leger Festival.

The four-day fixture on Town Moor gets under way on Wednesday and while conditions are currently on the quick side, there is rain forecast over the weekend.
Duncan said: "I think the track at Doncaster looks probably the best it has ever done since I have been involved with the racecourse – there is a fantastic covering of grass and it looks really good.
"The going is currently good, good to firm in places. We have applied some water to the straight today to maintain conditions as it was just getting quick enough yesterday.
"We have one eye on the forecast, which says there is a chance of some showers at the weekend so we may not have to water again. We just need to keep a watch on the weather as the temperatures we have been getting have been a little bit unseasonal and the course can dry out quite quickly.
"The going hangs on what happens over the weekend. I wouldn't want to start the meeting on ground that is too quick – I would sooner we started on ground that was a tad on the easy side. We just have to monitor the forecast and see how we go.
"I am really pleased with the entries for the early-closing races this year. The quality is really there and it looks the best renewal of the Ladbrokes St Leger since I have been at Doncaster."
