Grozny given time to recover
Plans remain fluid for Ivan Grozny, who had to miss the Betfred Ebor after he was found to have been lame on the eve of the big York handicap.
Ivan Grozny: Was a little 'sore'
The Willie Mullins-trained six-year-old, a winner at the Galway Festival, will be given plenty of time to make a full recovery before he returns to action.
"We just weren't 100 per cent happy with him," said Mullins' son, Patrick.
"He just was not moving as well as could so we just aired on the side of caution.
"We just said there will be other days. He should be back sooner rather later. I am not sure what the next target is, but it's not a long-term injury.
"He could step into Group company. We just want to get him 100 per cent right first, then make a plan then.
"He was just a little sore. It was something to do with his muscles. We just wanted to give him an easy time so he can make a full recovery.
"I imagine we will have another go at a good Flat race, but he will be back over hurdles in time."
