THE second division of the Newbury maiden sees a couple of well-related juveniles with contrasting pedigrees lining up for the their first racecourse start at 2.10pm.

Red-hot trainer William Haggas is responsible for the Sepoy colt Executive Force, a 200,000gns purchase by Markus Jooste's Mayfair Speculators and Peter and Ross Doyle at Book 1 of last year's Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.

Bred by Rabbah Bloodstock out of the 1m4f Group 3 Princess Royal Stakes scorer Mazuna, a daughter of Cape Cross, Executive Force is a half-brother to the New Approach filly Beautiful Romance, the winner of this year's Group 2 Middleton Stakes over 1m2½f.

Despite being from the family of four-time Group 1 winner and champion European two-year-old Mastercraftsman, further evidence that Executive Force may appreciate further than the 6f trip is provided by the fact that his three-parts sister Miss Raven, a daughter of Raven's Pass, was a winner in France over 1m3f.

One debutante bred to be more precocious is Vigee Le Brun, a daughter of Dark Angel who will be making her debut for trainer Brian Meehan.

A 32,000gns purchase by Sam Sangster Bloodstock at Book 2 of last year's Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Vigee Le Brun was bred by Ballyreddin Stud out of the Bernstein mare Wonderful Town, an unraced half-sister to Criquette Head-Maarek's 7f Group 3 Prix Miesque victress and Prix Morny runner-up Magic America.

Magic America has gone on to produce two winners, including the juvenile Group 3 runner-up Sara Lucille.

Wonderful Town has produced one winner to date, the Malibu Moon filly Moon Over Cuzco, a dual winner in the US over 1m½f.
