HAZARIYA, the dam of this season's Epsom and Curragh Derby hero Harzand, is set to go under the hammer at the Tattersalls December Breeding-Stock Sale, which starts its four-day run on November 28.
Harzand, a leading contender for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on Sunday, is the fifth foal out of Hazariya, a 14-year-old daughter of Xaar who won the Group 3 Athasi Stakes herself and has also produced Group 3 winner Harasiya, Listed scorer Hazarafa and Group 3-placed Haziyna at stud.

Hazariya, in foal to Invincible Spirit, will be consigned to Tattersalls by Newsells Park Stud, which bought the mare from Harzand's owner-breeder the Aga Khan for €480,000 at Goffs two years ago.
The mare has a yearling filly by Fastnet Rock and a filly foal by Dansili, both of which will be retained by Newsells Park Stud.
The operation's general manager Julian Dollar said: "Broodmares the quality of Hazariya are very rare jewels and after the extraordinary update to her pedigree we felt it made sound commercial sense to offer her at the December Sale.
"We were very fortunate to have acquired her, and equally fortunate that we now have two outstanding half-sisters to dual Derby winner Harzand for Newsells Park to race and ultimately add to our broodmare band.
"Hazariya is obviously the star of our December Sale consignment, but she is in good company as the team also features a further 13 Group/Listed performers or producers."
