Hatch remains in hospital
Ryan Hatch is continuing to be assessed at Southmead Hospital in Bristol following his fall at Cheltenham on Friday.
Ryan Hatch: Missed success on The New One.
The jumps jockey took a tumble from Cogry in the Unicoin Group Handicap Chase and was initially taken to Gloucestershire Royal for assessment on a possible sternum injury.
The Injured Jockeys Fund said in an update on Saturday evening: "To clarify, Ryan Hatch remains in Bristol Southmead Hospital where he is undergoing further examination for his injuries sustained at Cheltenham Racecourse yesterday. He has not had an operation."
Hatch missed out on the winning ride on The New One in the stanjames.com International Hurdle at Cheltenham on Saturday for trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies.
His son, Sam, was planning to see Hatch in hospital for a second time on Saturday night.
"Myself and Willy (Twiston-Davies, brother) went to see him last night. He was in really good spirits and chatting away," he told Channel 4 Racing.
"Me, Willy and Tom Bellamy will head down again and see him tonight.
"It's important he gets back. He's a massive part of Nigel's team and we need him back in one piece as soon as possible."
