You're Hired disappointed last time out but can get back on the right track in the Dan Hague Rails Bookmaker Handicap at Yarmouth.
The three-year-old had looked a really progressive type in his first couple of starts of the campaign, stepping up on two placed efforts as a juvenile to win on his return at Salisbury in July.
That maiden success saw him head into the handicap sphere with a mark of 80, a perch which soon proved to be well within his grasp as he struck by a head at Goodwood in late July.
It was then understandable that he was sent off a short-priced favourite to repeat the trick back over the same 10 furlongs at Goodwood.
However, everything seemed to go against him as his inexperience just told at a crucial stage, while the ground did not appear to be totally suitable, either, as he changed legs on multiple occasions during the closing stages and wandered around the track a bit.
He was only beaten half a length in third by fellow Amanda Perrett-trained runner Zhui Feng but he deserved plenty of credit and should be able to redeem himself in due course.
Baccarat should find a drop from Listed level for the Greene King IPA Conditions Stakes can get him back in the winner's enclosure.
The seven-year-old has not hit the mark since winning in Dubai in February, although he has been set some tough tasks in the interim.
Races like the Abernant and Stewards' Cup have proved beyond Charlie Appleby's runner but showed he still retains some sparkle when finishing third in a Listed heat at Newmarket.
He had no excuses that day so a drop in class seems the obvious step.
Vanity Queen should be winning the Stephen Wright Memorial Nursery Handicap if she is to take up her Fillies' Mile entry next month.
A half-sister to the Classic-placed Volume, Vanity Queen won over a mile at Nottingham last month but could not quite follow up when tried in a nursery handicap off a mark of 77 at Newmarket.
That was a pretty tactical race with just three runners though and given Vanity Queen already needs every inch of a mile, it perhaps did not play to her strengths.
Romantic View is worth noting as she returns to the track for the first time since finishing last at Ascot in the ApolloBet Home Of Cashback Offers Fillies' Novice Stakes at Carlisle.
The Shamardal filly was upped in class for the Albany Stakes at the Royal meeting after winning a Goodwood novice event on her second start but she made no kind of impact, with the tacky ground possibly partly to blame for her no-show.
Given a break since then, Romantic View can exorcise those demons.
