Hong Kong for Signs of Blessing
Signs Of Blessing is being aimed at the Longines Hong Kong Sprint following his creditable effort at Ascot on Saturday.
Signs Of Blessing (blue, black and yellow silks): Could go to Hong Kong in December.
Trainer Francois Rohaut believes the turning track at Sha Tin will suit his five-year-old better than Ascot although he has twice run well there, finishing third in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes and fourth in the British Champions Sprint.
His best performance to date came with victory in the Group One Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville in August
Rohaut said: "Signs Of Blessing will be aimed at the Longines Hong Kong Sprint. If the horse is okay at the beginning of December, he will definitely go to Hong Kong.
"The six furlongs and going uphill at Ascot last time was just a bit too far for him. On a flat track, six furlongs is his perfect trip, so we were happy with his Ascot run.
"He is a class horse and has proved he is one of the best sprinters around. He has won around a turn and loves good going, so Hong Kong should suit him."
Another French trainer seeking glory in the Far East on December 11 is Alain de Royer-Dupre.
A frequent visitor to Sha Tin in December, he saddled Pride to win the Hong Kong Cup in 2006 and Daryakana in the Hong Kong Vase in 2009.
Last year, Royer-Dupre sent out Dariyan to finish third in the Vase. This time he is looking to the progressive four-year-old colt, One Foot In Heaven.
"It is very much the plan for One Foot In Heaven to go for the Longines Hong Kong Vase," said Royer-Dupre.
Sixth to Found in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, One Foot In Heaven won the Group Two Prix du Conseil de Paris back at Chantilly on Sunday.
Royer-Dupre said: "The ground was very soft when he won the Prix du Conseil de Paris but I think he is a better horse on good ground, as he showed when he was sixth in the Arc de Triomphe. The ground in Hong Kong should suit him well.
"We will know more in the next couple of weeks, as we will see how he comes out of his win at Chantilly.
"At the moment, there are no problems with him. He seems to be a horse that is improving with age, like his mother (Pride) did and I think there is more to come."
