Horseplay is Pretty impressive

Horseplay, ridden by David Probert, wins the Tweenhills Pretty Polly Stakes

Horseplay (11-2) advertised her Classic claims with victory in the Tweenhills Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket.

Andrew Balding's filly will now head to the Investec Oaks at Epsom on June 2 after she made a really accomplished seasonal return in this Listed contest over a mile and a quarter.

The David Probert-ridden Horseplay ended up winning by three-quarters of a length from Isabel De Urbina, with odds-on favourite Astronomy's Choice third.

Balding said: "The obvious target would be the Oaks. We'd quite like to take her for a gallop on Breakfast with the Stars morning, but she'll go straight to Epsom."

The winner was given a quote of 14/1 for the June Classic by Sky Bet.

Balding added: "The ground was a little bit of an unknown as she won her maiden on very soft ground.

"It is nice to see she is adaptable as far as the going is concerned.

"I think she will come on for that as it was her first run of the year.

"The obvious target is what we have dreamed off all winter – and that is to have a crack at the Oaks."
