Inglis to offer A$1m Golden Slipper bonus By Ollie O'Donoghue 11:50AM 23 NOV 2016
AUSTRALIAN bloodstock auctioneers Inglis will offer an extra incentive to vendors as part of next year's Classic Yearling Sale – a new invitation-only Gold Riband session on the Saturday night for select yearlings.
Inglis will pay the Golden Slipper first acceptance fees for all yearlings sold in the Gold Riband Session, and will give a A$100,000 bonus to the vendor/supplier of the session’s first stakes winner.
If any horse sold at Book 1 of the 2017 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale wins the 2018 Golden Slipper, Inglis will pay a A$1 million bonus split between the named vendor and supplier on the official entry form.
The potential of the scheme was highlighted as previous graduates of the Classic Sale Extreme Choice and Yankee Rose both ran in the Golden Slipper this year, with Yankee Rose finishing second by half a length to Capitalist.
The sale will run from February 11-13.
