Irish Champions Weekend: Slattery reveals targets

Andrew Slattery is likely to split up Creggs Pipes and Planchart rather than run them both in Saturday's Coolmore Fastnet Rock Matron Stakes at Leopardstown.

Slattery is now considering the Group Two Moyglare "Jewels" Blandford Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday for Planchart, who was in season when she disappointed behind Somehow in the Snow Fairy Stakes.

Stablemate Creggs Pipes has been a revelation this season, winning four on the bounce before finishing second in the Fairy Bridge Stakes.

"Creggs Pipes definitely runs (in the Matron), Planchart we'll make a decision about on Tuesday whether she runs in the Matron or the Blandford Stakes at the Curragh," Slattery told At The Races.

"Just for some reason, Planchart came into season last Sunday. We brought her home and she was mad in season.

"She'd been showing signs on the course but we weren't sure because the vet scanned her on Friday and said she was perfect, so I couldn't believe she could come back in (season) as quick, but she did.

"Creggs Pipes definitely goes in the Matron, but we just need to decide on Planchart."
