San Siro: Premio Vittorio di Capua (Group 1) 1m, 3yo+
FRUSTRATION was the emotion for trainer Charlie Hills with a neck the difference between Jallota and a first Group 1 success in Italy’s Premio Vittorio di Capua on Sunday
"It’s annoying, very annoying," said the trainer after the five-year-old just failed to reel in Waikika (Yann Barberot/Gerald Mosse) in the mile contest at San Siro.

"Things didn’t quite go according to plan. We rode him to get the mile and he really got it well. We’ve beaten the favourite [Kaspersky] but then been done by something else."
Always prominent under Jamie Spencer, Jallota was hemmed in for a vital 50 yards around the two-furlong marker and could not deny the winner.
Hills added: “He’s run a huge race. He’s one in a million, consistent and sound as a pound.”

Willie Mullins was unable to add Italy’s most prestigious chase to his list of triumphs as Alelchi Inois finished third in the Gran Premio Merano.
Second in the Galway Plate, Alelchi Inois, ridden by Ruby Walsh, finished five lengths behind the Czech-trained winner Mazhilis (Josef Vana/Jan Kratochvil).
Mullins said: “It was his first time over the distance and he ran well and jumped well until making a bad mistake at the second-last. He lost more ground there than he was beaten by.”
